The funeral services were conduct ed a t the Baptist Church, by the pas tor, in the—presence of a large con course of relatives and friends, after which the body was buried with Ma sonic honors. It was said to havo been the most largely attended funer al in that city for many years. It will be remembered by the older citizens of Barnwell County that Mr. McArthur came here about the year 1881 with the 4 rm of Moore and Mc- Laurin, being originally from Hoxlii, “Carolina., He was connected with this firm for a great many years, and during his stay in Barnwell County hei made many warm and devoted friends. He married Miss Georgia ^ “I Greene, daughter of Mr. George W. .Greene, of Rosemary and Richland townships. Mr. and Mrs. McArthur were blessed with two sons, who were ta ken by death in early manhood, and he leaves surviving him his widow and several nieces and nephews, all of whom'are residents of Miami and Live Oak, Fia. A number of them at tended the funeral. / Mr. McArthur Was one*of,the best men the writer ever knew, a gentle man of the highest type—true to his friends, kind and obliging to every body—and a devoted husband.
