Atkinson closed a protracted meeting at Holly Springs Baptist church last Fri day night, with 15 additions to the church. The baptism will take place the third Sunday in Septellber. Of course we immediately cut the mellon and it was delicious, luscious, and then some more. We greatly enjoyed it and ap preciate Mr. Stewart's generos ity and thoughtfulness. A delightful lawn party was given at the home of Mr. and Mrs. J. W. E arle last Thursday evening in honor of their guest Miss Vivian McDaniel, of Lau rens. The lawn was beautifully decorated with J apanese lan terns and a most enjoyable evening was spent. Delicious punch was served by Mrs. W. B. Freeman and Mrs. C. L. Cureton. Quite a number of out of town guests were present. Frank Guilty About (Io'clock Monday after noon the jury in the Frank case after being out about four hours, brought in a verdict of guilty, and Leo M. Frank, a wealthy Jew, was found guilty of killing Mary Phagan, a 1.4 year-old girl in Atlanta last April. Quite a good (eal of interest was taken in the case by Pickens p1)eople. Some tho light Frank guilty, while others thought him not guilty, and after the verdict, was announce ed it came to light that som few knew all along that he wvas guilty.
