It was a great ermon delivered with power and made a deep impression up l'on the. vast congregation that had assembled. After the ser mon the pastor, Rev. 'E. It is a wonderful history for a church to be able to write when you take into consideratkon that the church has no very great fin.ncial strength. Special mention was made of tho-liberality of Mr. John M. Geer, a former mem ber of the church. Thk.' church building is a perfect "gem" of beauty and convenience, costing $8,000, and when the Sunday school rooms shall be added as at first coridpl etd 1p the plan, no more, re(N1 coivenient church bu5llli.g gan be~ found any wheid ~1iet #oney, which -will be a~li $12j00Qg. May pastor and people be more and more united in the work of the Lord which Is the redemp * tion of the world. H. A Beautiful Sight. * Recently while conducting a meeting a meeting at Norris each day at 11 o'clock Prof. Clayton and his assistant, Miss Zachary, would march the pu pils of the school into the church to hear the preaching. The r order and discipline was perfect. What a wonderful opportunity these splendid young teachers have for doing good and we be lieve they are bending all their energies to be helpful to the children. May success attend their labors. Richardson helped the pas-|' tar in the meeting before he was, baptized. AM the request of the I basfir he conducted the service ' at the pool just before he, with I many others were baptized. Jegf has developedl into a real good, sound gospel preacher. I May the Lord abundantly bless him in his Texas home. After Rev. Richardson left us Rev. John T. Mann, the blind evangelist, came and preached , for us five days. His preaching 3 was very much enjoyed by large, congregations day and night. Tjhe singing was led by Prof. John A. Durham assisted byE Mrs. Mann, wife o1f the blind preacher. We have many good singers at Enon and during the t meeting the singing was grand, in fact we have never heard bet-1 ter' and while we only had a few members added, Tet we be lieve it was a real revival to many hearts. Rev, and Mrs. Mann and Prof. Durham will be long and gratefully remem - bered by the pastor and people of Enon.____.__ H. The following let ters from his friends show the high esteem in which he wss held. Mr. Robert Stewart, Pickens, S. C. My dear Mr. Stewart:-We were inexpressibly saddened and shocked yesterday morning when we read in the Pickens paper that Bruce had passed %way. I did not know he was ;ick and his death came as % surprise to us. We can not now understand why a young man of so much promise should have been taken, just in the bloom of young man hood but sometime we shall anderstand the meaning of it and we shall know that it is best. Bruce was a splendid boy. I have just been thinking today f his course in the Easley school and the good record that [ie made. There was never inything that, you Could cecn 3ure him for. 1Ho was manly ind upright in his conduct and was at all times interested in is school duties. I remember that Prof. Geer, in rendering a :ecision of the judges in a de bate we held said, "I expect bo see Mr. Stewart *a Philadel phia lawver". This was a com pliment to his ability as a speak er. I still have the coin you gave me that day to get some ne mento,as an expression of appre ciation for what I had done for Bruce. I have It in my lock box in the bank and I shall keep it, though it is not neces -ary to make me reimember hiim, for his life made a lasting ipression on m1e.
