Wiggins ou Storms...te Msakl ioni Predletions that Will be Watche With Interest. I have now to announce that have discovered the periodic tim of the great Sare y quale of Octc ber 7, 1869-the' storm which a] most annihilated the forests o New England and the maritim provinces, ruining their timber in torests. This period I find to b 5,46[ days, so that it will be her on September 19, 1887, and wil he the greatest storm that will tak place before the year 1900. It greatest force will be on the aftei noon of September 20, when th forests of the eastern coast will i all probability go down before il It will be accompanied by eartb quaken, and these will recur wit great violence the middle of Oct. i California and Western EuropE Let no fisherman's hark then ea, its shadow into the looking glass ( (what Horace calls him) the pow erful god of the sea. Between thv period and the present the heaviec which will occur are as follows September 20, 23, 1884. October 20, 22, .1884. March 18, 20, 1885. September 29, 30, 1886, ver heavy. MArch 26, 29, 1887. As I never Iid a cent for advei tising storms, and for my stori predictions never received one-t generosity of the press being a r< ward for mfy efforts in the publi interess-I trust you wilt be goo eiough to keel) these storms befor seamen and thus save millions : dollars and many lives. I sha not myself refer to them. I aj constantly in receipt of letters froi persons in the United States offei ing me motey, and in some case large rewards, tor rea.ding their ft ture from the planets and thei destiny from the stars. To thes deluded people I have neither tim nor inclination to reply, other tha to say that they are not yet out c the susperstition and ignorance c dark ages. E. S. WIGoINS. Ottaway, A pril 28, 1884. CURE FOR LOCKJAW.-IDr. .1. (1 Hatch, an old physician of over 1 years practice recommends the fo lowing treatment for lockjaw, has ing successfully triedl it on hin self and others. If any person i threatened or taken with lock-jar from injuries on the hands, feel arms or legs, do not wait for th dloctor, but put the injured par into the following prepartion: Pu hot wood ashes into water wart as can borne on the injured par then wet thick folded clothes i the water and apply them to th lpart as soon as possible, and at th same time bathe the back-bon from the neck down, with somn p~owerfulI laxative sti muulant, sa cayenne pepper and water or mus tard and water (good vinegar i better than water). It should b as hot as the patient can bear i' D~o not hesitate; go to work an do it, and don't stop until the jaw open. In several State Legi lAtures bills have been introduci having for their object repressi( f of the dog nuisance. We do ni e iearnthat any favorable action h4 been taken. but there is hope i the situation when farmers begi e to req uire enactment of laws to r j strain dogs.
