Legion Post> il'j?ughout the country for contributions to the Overseas, Graves Endowment Fund, with which is proposed to decorate resting places of American dead in Europe, are steadily coming into the national treasurer of the organization. The largest amount received in a single day was STf.OO on May .SI, hut this was closely followed on the next day with $5200 in the mails. Many posts of the organization collected the funds in a campaign which culminated on May 30. so that-returns may not he known until these report I by legion state departments to national headquarters. The attainment of the figures set seems more certain since reports from various states indicate filling of Clio quotas. Pennsylvania still leads in contributions. Reports from other states show that reaching the goal is but a matter of days. Rodney S. Cohen. legion national executive committeeman from Georgia, has wired: "Our quota Is pmctlcally collected, I feel sure that I can guarantee it within the next few days." In New York, where the Advertising Men's post voluntarily assumed a quota which nearly approximated that of the entire state, the commander wired "HMiimrc t-lnit-n/l ...? The French wife of a former American officer told how deeply she felt her countrymen's obligation to the Americans who died there. "1 gave many and much," she wrote, "but now 1 have an American born son, and I give something to this fund that he may honor the sacrifice of those dead." Maude Radford Warren, well known novelist, was among those to contribute during the past week. writer who was overseas during the war, told of the appreciation she held for "the splendid spirit of those who served and died in France." Another contributor was Assistant Secretary of War Dwight F. Davis. Contributions will be received until warned against hunting, fishing feeding stock, ranging, entering or trespassing in any manner whatsoever, upon the lands in Dog BlutT township, containing eight hundred (S00) acres, more or less, being the place where Nancy A. M., under the supervision of the County Superintendent of Education. I. Four-year Scholarships?Open to students desiring to pursue fouryear courses in Agriculture. Examinations are to be given in high school English, mathematics and history, and in agriculture. Age requirement?1G years or over at the time of entrance.
