Mr. Carter was in The Herald oft'ice last Friday and said that he had proof, and had so proven to \hc proper authorities^ that the moonshine did rot be'ong to him, and that he knew nothing about it, not even knowing that it was in the car. Mr. Carter says that he is often iskpd to bring men to Conway or to other places, and as he is about the only one in that neoghborhood who owns an automobile, he usually con sents to carry people from one place to another. On this day Faircloth asked him to take him to town, and he consented, even though Faorcloth had been drinking a little. On the way to Conway Mr. Carter savs that they stopped at a store and that the clerk saw Mr. Faircloth put the moonshine in the car, where it was later discovered by the authorities. M. R.
