The table is complete as to candidates for county offices, circuit solicitor and members of Congress from the sixth district. The vote for State candidates was not reported as fully as the others, but the results of the primary in regard to the State candidates are given so far as they could be obtained by unofficial count An examination of the table shows that the following candidates were elected by this first primary to county otTices: Allard H. Gasque leads in this county for Congress. L. M. Gasque is re-elected to the office of Circuit Solicitor. Carter and Prince are elected a* the two representatives from this county. J. A. Calhoun wins out in the race for Auditor. J. S. Vaught goes in again as Probate Judge. C. E. Barker is re-elected as County Treasurer. W. H. Chestnut is re-elected a.s magistrate of Conway township. According to these unofficial figures of the vote cast for officers of Horry County, there will be no second primary as to any of them The official count which will be published next week may possibly change this result as to the race for the House and it is possible that the official count may change the standing of Calhoun and Cook for the Auditor's place. C. THE HORRY HERALD, 00] The figures as given are believed to be so accurate that the results will not be changed by the official count. The majority of Carter for the House is larger than that of Prince. If the official cfcunt changes the result as to Prince, then it is likely that there will be a second primary to select another member of the House, and this second race will be between Prince and Ford. The race for Congress is determined by the vote in the counties of the sixth district. It has been found hard to obtain accurate information of the vote cast in all of the counties; but such information as could be obtained here appears elsewhere in this issue. Women participated in the primary all over the county, according 1 to reDorts. There was th#? Invo-pst ; turnout of women voters at Conway. The addition of women to the club rolls of the county is doubtless responsible for the larger vote cast in this primary. o CARD OF THANKS I take this method of thanking the voters of Horry County, both men and ladies, for the large vote you gave me in the primary, which elected me Treasurer of Horry County, the- best county in the State. I hope to prove my appreciation by giving vou efficient service. C. E. BARKER o OFFICIAL RETURNS The Democratic committee will meet in Conway on Tuesday to tabulate the vote cast in the primary. After they finish their work, the unofficial count will be corrected in any particulars found necessary, and the official count will appear in the next issue of the Herald. o Get the better class of printing at the Herald shop. ***** Get Kernelgritt at the Herald office. * * * * * Get fine wedding invitations at the Herald office. o ^To Stop a Cough Quick ^ take HAYES* HEALING HONEY," a cough medicine which stops the cough by healing the inflamed and irritated tissues. Brii ' v I I CONWAYBUSY ELECTION DAY The returns of the unofficial count of votes cast in the primary of Tuesday were taken at the Piatt Pharmacy, next door to the Horry Herald building. By special arrangement wires were run into the front of the drug store and the quickest time on record was made in getting the results in for the bulletin board displayed on the sidewalk in front of the store. There was a large crowd round this board from about 5 o'clock in the afternoon until 1 o'clock on Tuesday night. riM i it t??t - me ouiietin Doard, one of the best 'S === Spend Your I You Car I Best ^ We have just recen Dresses in the lastest styl pay you to see these be for Our Fall line of Di latest Styles and Fabrics, come in and examine pric< I Our line of Milliner I est styles and material th< I able Price, come in and s | now. | Our opening will be I Yours to Serve and t TIip Sr?: No. 43 Main Street, Op CONWA m ^ * ?
