Upon examination I found an incised wound, left loir, almost witlway between knee and ank'e. This wound was inflicted by a sharp instrument, both bones of leg* tibia and fibula, being cut in two. Deceased had lost a good deal of blood. Wounds were treated anticeptically, flesh wound closed by sutures, fractured bones adjusted, limb placetl in splint. On account of gangrene developing below wound and general septicaemia developing, it wa- nece> ar\ to amputate wounded limb below knee and above wound inflicted. November 20th.
