B ack berry Jelly To 1 quart of berries add 1-2 pint of water, heat thoroughly and strain through cheese cloth and then through a flannel jelly bag. T6 1 cup of juice add 3-4 cups of sugar and sirup in the proportion of half sugar and half cane sirup. Blackberry Jam with Sirup To 1 pound of washed blackberries add 3-4 pound cane sirup. Cook until sirup is heavy. Ginger or cinnamon may be added. Seal while hot. If the berries can first be put through a food chopper the cooking will be hastened. Peach Butter. 3 pounds ripe peaches. 1 pound apples (put through a meat chopper.) 1 and 1-2 pounds sugar. 1 and 1-2 pounds cane sirup. Cook until the product forms a smooth red paste. Apple and Carrot Conserve. 1 quart ground carrots. 1 quart tart apples. 2 sliced oranges. 2 cups sirup.
