Chairman Gronna hopes the committee will act finally Tuesday. The house agricultural committee proceeded with its hearings with a view to an early report on the amend ments. Members of the house have beep^kummoned to Washington in the hope of early action on this and other legislation recommended by President Wilson. In the senate committee, Senator Harrison, Democrat, Mississippi urged that the committee act immediately but his motion was defeated, 4 to 2. Senators Smith, South Carolina, Smith, Georgia, Kansdell, Louisiana, | Democrats, and France, Republican, of Maryland, voted against the motion. In opposing the amendments Senators Smith, of Georgia, and Smith, South Carolina, as well as Senator Kansdell, took the position that sufficient power -now exists to meet the siliwltion. Senator Smith, Georgia, said two ' great movements now in progress would reduce the cost of living and return of soldiers to civil life, thereby increasing production, and the reduction in taxes in. 1920. Senator Fiance said the food control act was responsible foi! present conditions and thflt. the way to reduce prices ^ was to increase nroduetion. i ~'f> A * Chairman Gronna announced that a joint meeting of the house and senate agricultural committees would be held to hear witnesses representing the National Grange and Milk Producers regarding the high cost of liviriff., quickly relieves Constipation, Bdiousncss, Loss of Appetite and Headaches, due to Torpid liver.?-adv. 4-24-19 20t. | PLANT Coi J LACY, rt tobacco i B m S ^1 mi to our ti ixir n i >i CLAN HEALTHFUL ADVICE During the aftermath of influenza or any other prostrating illness, the logical tonic is SCOTT'S PMi ll eiriM mrnmm a a 1 fi Tl which enriches the blood and strengthens the whole body, via nourishment.
