Nine million men, till subject to army draft, will be ivided into five classes, and called c cording to class. Provost Marshal General Crowder nnounced this today, pointing out hat economic considerations will govrn the new system of selection and hat those last available, either for industrial or dependency reasons, will >e the last called. The new system based on recomnendation of draft boards the country ner will simplify their tasks and r>ake the drawings hereafter even nore etiuitable than in the past. The system is designed to get the oest military material first and to allow the man himself to establish his own economic position. Each man will be allowed seven days to answer a questional're as to his industrial status and the dependency of any relatives. The exact ^ime of sending- out this questmen ire or just what questions it will include are still under discussion. The classes in general will be divided about thus: Class One Bachelors without dependents; men with self supporting wives; any others with no claims of dc pendency. Class Two Highly skilled farm laborers. men with wives who could work: and others of nnlv ^ - pendency. Class Three Men with aged mothers, highly skilled operators in war industries. Class Four Men with large families dependent upon them say with a wife and three or four children. Class Five Legless men, paralytics and others of the military unfitClass one would be called first;, class second next if needed, and so on.. In each class the men would be subject to call in the turn which the original drawing gave them. Only twenty forms will be needed" in handling the clerical work under the new system as against 182 under the old. "Number 1,000" will be the form number for the questionaire. o It is hard to estimate the probable value of an acre of land in any community in this county, at say, twenty years hence. - * ' Conway was without hominy f r[ several days recently owing to delay/ 1 L .
