In a test case a workman drank 20 pint bottles without becoming intoxicated. The new drink will be placed at the disposal of parliament in the House of Commons bar. ??nHK '' 'VV1| HOMEWOOD LIVE STOCK ASSOCIATION. Met April 13 at Residence of C. F. Spivey?Business Transacted. On last Thursday afternoon at 1 o'clock a business meeting of the Homewood Live Stock Association was held at the residence of Mr. C. F. Spivey. Appropriate bv-laws and rules were adopted, and C. Henson Spivey was appointed manager for the year. He was given instructions to carry out the by-laws, collect all unpaid dues, buy suitable roofing, have vat covered and have stationery printed for the association, and appoint regular dipping days, beginning Thursday April 20; dip every other Thursday until otherwise instructed, and insist on all members dipping on regular days. So there will he more help to dip the stock. We wish to say for the benefit of the public that we have been dipping regularly for 2 months, and out of the several hundred dipped tliere has not one been injured. The milch cows arc giving* a third more 111 ilk than under the same circumstances not dipped. Ho was afflicted with Rhoumatism and suffered much, and for the last four years was unable to work, but his sufferings are now over. Oh! how hard to give dear papa up. We miss him s() much, we miss him here, we miss him there, we miss him every where, but we have a bright hope that ^ we may meet him again. it is tUMicult lor us to understand n.ystcrics of providence. We know I not the purpose of our Heavenly Father and when these severe afflictions come upon us we can only lift our hearts to CJod in submission and say "not our will but thine he done." His chair is vacant and our home seems so lonely ( vithout him, and our hearts cry out 1 in silent anguish longing for tin4 ! touch of the vanished hand and the | sound of his voice forever stilled in this world. Yes he is gone from this world of sickness, trouble and affliction to enter the home that his blessed Savior had prepared for him and his sweet voice is now atuned to the harmonies of Heaven and we long to ! hear him singing, and rejoice that I there is more gem in the Savior's crown and another soul in Heaven.
