PASSABLE nEHEMRFR "" w J J 'The Right of Way has Ileen Opened ^ by the County to the Foot of the ' Red Hill,--Still There is a Thousand Dollars That Will be Spent in Work on it,--Road will be Complete to the Highland on the Other Side by Christmas. As the result of au appropriation i 'made by I he Legislature at the last < session, there was $1500.00 in the < county treasury for the purpose of building a new road to Myrtle t Beach by way of the new steel i bridge which was erected and completed more than a year ago. Some weeks ago the county board wont to work and the right of way was cleared of trees and other obstructions through the swamps on the other side of the river to the foot of the hiils on the other side. Some of the work of laying mudsills at the places where embankments will have to be thrown up, was also done, and so far the oouuty has spent $250.00 in the work. The worK will continue from time to time until toe balance of the fund has been spent. The County owes the Town of Conway some convict hire, but has agreed, it is understood to donate this to the county to piacc on this new road, and if so the county chain gang will be put to work on the new road before long, and Supervisor Murrell promises that by December the work will be finished and tho road put iu passable condition to the h'ghlands on '.the other side of the swamps, Then V it will be easy to take the road on .to Myrtle Beach.
