There happened to be an old road leading down over Grainger's land on to this Holmes land, and "the hands of Mr. Boyd, working -this land found it necessary to pass along this old road in going to and from their work. But when Boyd posted his land, Grainger posted his, so that Boyd's hands got permission from Dow Jones to cut a new passway on his land, near the lino between him and Grainger. Tho third case in the matter was a charge of trespass brought by Grainger against Ambrose Martin, tho warrant stating that Martin went on the Grainger laud after lie had been notified not to do so. Tho result of tho easo was that Martin, John Boyd and all j of his hands were cleared of tho charges, but Grainger was convicted and linod in tho sum of live dollars.
