WOOI>\VARI>, Kditor TIIRUSDAY, MARCH, HI IU10. On account of an accident to our press last week's edition of the Herald was work oil" on the Field's ? #11 press. Hie courtesy is gr.ueiuny acknowledged and appreciated, ? Preparations have commenced on the Norm an lot. for the erection of the handsome building of the Burroughs & Collins Co. We are informed that the building is to be completed by August. Every man should own a home of his home. It makes a better citizen of him. It awakes in him a feeling of proprietorship that causes him to take an interest in the ujbuilding of his town. If Conway grows as rapidly in the next five years as it has done in tho past for the same length of time trolly lines will become an absolute necessity to meet tho demand of business and convenience. Some of the timid onos aro looking forward with dread and apprehension to the appearance of lLdly's comet, which is schdulcd to be visible to the naked eye about April 1st. There is nothing in it to cause one to lose any sleop over, except that perhaps there will be few now large enough to remember who will ever see it again. Strange to say that Conway has many doubting Thomas's when the I progress of Conway is the subject of discussion, These calmity howlers are found in the highways and byways and in public places singing their doleful talc of lack of progress and the want and need of activity in businesseircles, the absence of which, they say, is carrying us to ruin as fast as time and tide can do so. Yet, stranger still is the fact that these very same loud mouthed people who talk more with their mouth than they think with their brains, that is if they have any of this essential matter,(which is doubtful, as appearances are decidedly agaiust such a proposition, aro the very ones who clog the wheels of progress and are a heavy burden to legitimate enterprise and industry. They haven't energy enough to get out of a shower of rain and* aro so mean that thov Mir. _ ? J passed the man who would skin a gnat for its hide and tallow. The} so are slowful that they get in their own way and more so in that of the community in which they live. They are a nuisance to themselves and more so to those around them However, be it said to the credit ot Conway people that this class of people are narrowed down to a very few, and their hobby is so well recognized that their power for evil is so restricted as to render them harmless. The hotter way for thorn to do is to get right and keep right. Industry restores and builds the energies, invigorates activity and increases confidence in one's self, in their people and their community. Let them be up and doing something in jthe industrial development of town and county, and with a long pull, a strong pull and pull altogether results will happen that will convince even the most possimastic one amorg these calamity howlers that Con way is going forward with a rapidity that astonishes even its warmest friends.
