It will seat more than a hundred pupils. Th'^? s just now the last of live schools iff I Sucks township built in the last few years having a seating capacity of moro than 100 pupils each. Our prospective pupils and patrons will dedicate the Pauly swamp -chool house on Saturday, the 27th inst. All our neighbors and friends 1 from far and near are expected to be with us with well filled baskets. The program lias been placed in the 1 hands of gentlemen greatly interested in educational matters and we may expect some good speeches by some good speakers on this most interesting subject. Wo have it in mind to become the banner township of the county for good public schools. Juno 15 th,- The hardest rain storm of the season passed over this section on June 15th. There was hail and high winds, and some of the largest trees of the forest were shivered into splinters. L W Anderson's tobacco barn was struck by lightning, and very much damaged. The top of the dwelling of II M Stevens was also struck by a ? bolt near the south end tearing otT hi shingles, it then went down into the building along line of the studding tearing some of them out from , top to bottom. Most of the weather boarding was torn olT, and the rest was jarred loose by the force of the lightning, The bolt thon went on into the room splitting open an oak bed-stead post, and bursting open some of tho block a. The family fortunately, wero in the north ond of the homo, and woro not seriously hurt. The house was filled with splinters and broken window-panes. The end plate of the houso was nearly torn in two. The school will close on Friday week. The people of Bayboro township turned out in numbers last Saturday and had a basket picnicat .icnretto's Mill.
