Everything went on nicely, all hands satisfied and no booze in it at all, I see The Field has asked the (juestion: "Who does the new court house building belong to?" Hast February when we found out that we could not hold court in it, in Mr Spivey's absence, some of us up here decided that it was his property, and we have no reason to change our opinion yet. Mr. Editor I desire to say a few words in your valuable paper in reply to an article which was written from Blanch, appearing in the issue of the Herald dated April the 23rd, which attempted to state that Messrs E. N. Johnson, D. M. Alford, M. B. Hard wick, and H. J. Graham visited the home ot Mr. J. M. D. Cannon,on Sunday April lilth. As to Mr. Graham he might have | visited Mr. Cannons' home that day hut as to Messrs. Alford, Hard wick and Johnson I will say his statement is utterly false, for all of the three wore in the Box section all of that day. A curious specimen of wild animal has been infesting some of the farmers near here. At one place near here it is being told that it had destroyed several bushels of seed potatoes for one man. Mr. P Graham an expert hunter of Baybo ro offered him a race on the night of April lHth being sure he would lind him near Joiner Swamp where he had ranged regularly for some time, but unfortunately the animal was up between Blanche andBayboro and he escaped a warm race wh/ch Mr. Grahams' trained racer would have doubtlessly given him.
