Mullins, .1 Uno 21.--- At no time in the history of the enterprising eity of Mullins. the little Danville of South Carolina, has there been manifested as much interest in the election of her mayor as was today. There were only two aspirants for the olliee: .las. T. Ilothcandidates having strong and arduous support ers made the election one of the hottost and closest ever held. After several hours of hard work on the part of the friends of both the election was closed, ballots counted and resulted in the election of John Purley Cooper as mayor of Mullins for the next two years and J. M. Hethea, C.O Dixon, If. M. Folder. J. R. Price, F. C. Rogers and S. J. Smith as aldermen. Mrs. Amelia Ann Tyler died at her home near Bayboro on .lane 10th, 1900. She had been ii. bad health for nearly three years, but just before her death she seeinec to be better; she ate dinner and supper that day and seemed to be mi good spirits. She went to bed j her usual time, when about half an hour till ten o'clock she calleil her husband, Klish Tyler, telling him that she wanted water. She drank the water and died in about fifteen minutes. Her last words were: "Thank God 1 am prepared to go." She was nearly 71 years old, and had been married 40 years. Little Uubic was a charm to their home, hut our Heavenly Father saw (it to take her with Him to erect us when we come. Little Uubic leaves a mother and father, a host of friends and relatives to mourn their loss, but while we mourn we feel that it is her eternal f^ain, Uubic Cod has called \ 011 away to that happy land above. It seems that once our happy home is now the saddest place on earth without those precious smiles of I yours, but soon wo will ?o> iiml moot you whore parting will bo no more. Truly we can say: A loving one from earth is gone, A voice wc loved is stilled, A place made vacant in our home Which never can be filled. May wo all find a home in heaven when our earthly task is done. In early life she connected herself with IMeasunt Meadow ^Haptist church. The community has lost a good neighbor and friend, the husband a faithful companion and the little girl a good mother. She was known to the writer about seven wars and lie feels confident that our lohs is her cnornal gain. She was (piiotly laid to rest in the cemetery at Kohobeth church. She leaves a husband and one child, a mother, two brothers, one sister and a host of friends to mourn their loss.
