Adriuu Dot*. Mr. Edi tor: If you will alio?v me space ia your paper 1 will write a few lines from thi< place as 1 hardly ever sec anything from this place We. were sorry to hear of the death of I'ncle Jimmy Hojth on last Friday. There seems to he a lot of sickness in this section. A uumber of young men who went to Georgia last winter have returned home feeling that there is no place on God's green footstool better than grand old Horry. We are behind in getting a stand of cotton and tobacco on account of the dry weather. There are no weddings to report. The truck farmers it seems got low prices for their berries again this year. We hope to see the farmers grow more provision crops and less money crops so that so many speculators cannot live on the poor farmers. The poor man must live on a cheaper plan. They must not try to keep up with some one who has more horses mules or vehicles than they have by going in debt for them. Work and pay as they go and they will save from 20 to 50 per cent and besides this saving they will enjoy thomself so much better. Best wishes to the Herald and its readers. K. T. Editor Herald: We have been having dry weather and farmers are trying to clean their crops. Wo have a great deal of sickness and some deaths. The measles have been in this country for sometime. Fred Ricks also died leaving two 1 1 # '.. noys ana menus in sorrow. Mr. Editor, I see a great deal in your columns about the dispensary. I believe the dispensary is better than the state of things now arc, for if the law had been carried out as it was intended wo would not have so much rotten stuff all over the State t hat we now have. Hoping this will liud a place in vnnr columns this week. 1 close with best wishes to the Herald and its readers. J. J. Full wood.
