Stone & Company Write or the Outlook for Ciooil Prices of Cotton Editor llorry Herald, Conway, S. C. Dear> Sir.?Since our last cotton has beeir showing increased activity, and the market has broadened considerably. Interest has been awakened in many sections where it has been long dormant aud the indications are that we sha'l witness continued improvement as the season advances. The week has brought forth a number of crop reports all of them as a rule quite bullish. First of all the figures of 10,2.">H,<100 was announced by a prominent Kngli>h Statistician, continues to influence the market in a pronounced manner. This is especially true as regards to Liverpool, where the opinion of that party always commands a good deal of attention and evidence of thai is shown by the operation there this week, spot sales being on a largely increased sale, the trend upward, and reports stating that spinners a re anxiifhs bu v ers. The Southern Cotton Association issued an estimate placing the crop at it, 144,000 bales, and the Journal of commerce in an elaborate review made the condition t?.">. as against t?y.4 last month. In addition to all this private reports were at hand claiming a small crop, some of them so small that we refrained from quoting the figures. As we stated in fhe first of our letter everything to nana tins week and la^t looks like higher prices for cotton. The authorities believe the world will require 12,000,000 bales, and if this proves correct, we see nothing that would really prevent cotton from going very much higher, however this may, or may not be the case, but the fact remains th it trade condition are*good, and what has transpired in respect to the crop pros pects is in favor of a small, rather than full yield. The insight figures for the week were 407,000 against 591,000 last year, Total to date 3,400.00 last year 5,070,000. This is about the correct condition of the situation, besides we have had a heavy advance the last two or three days, up to yesterday when market made sensational break, after the publica tion of the census report, showing 0,483,640 gained to Nov. 1st which was beyond all expectations. We do not predict the course of the market, nor do we give advice, but wo do give you information that should aid you in viewing the market from proper stand point. We have made arrangements to store cotton and advance money on it. and if an V of our fri?nrle rlnci??n this write us, and ship us your cotton. You 1*8 very truly, Stone & Company. Trespass Notice.
