I \\ k have heard mueh complaint lately concerning the bad condition of the road* in different sections of t the county. Some sections of road, it is claimed, owe their had condi- < lion almost entirely to the frequent . passing of timber carts, not that 1 the damage is caused by the wide , tires of this vehicle, but the end of i the piece of timber being allowed to drag, a gutter is gradually cut in the center of the road. A few f small gas lights, which the town ( now has to light its streets, though good of their kind, as long as they are kept in repair, are, nevertheless, a disgrace to a growing town like this and they cannot be endured much longer. Dr. Taber studied i medicine at 18 years of age, gradua < ting first at the Charleston Medical College and afterwards at the Uni versity of Kentucky, among the first j in his class. lie has taken several I post graduate courses in surgery. He first practiced with his father, ' Dr. Charles Rhctt Taber, until the latter's death, when lie moved to Spartanburg. lie has found it necessary to seek a location in the country on account of his health. His , father, grand father and great grand , father were physicians. His father { during his life time was prcsiden < of the S C.
