We deem it but j jst to Mr. Allsbrook to say that we know the charge to be unt rue and nn just to Mi. Allsbrook. It might be well f<?r "Films'' to inquire why it is that people can got $2 75 per barrel for turpentine, and only $2.00 at other places in the county? We answer because that Mr. Allsbrook is a friend to the people, and believes in paying full value for what he gets. M. M. Stkvknk, II. M. Tyi.br, W. J. Tvi.kk, B. J. Sroos, T. M, Tylkr. Graders commenced work Monday morning in the grading rooms of the Horry Warehouse. The tobacco hat his come in thus fur shows more color than the early tobacco did last year. All of our Warehouse men seem very much pleased with the out look of the Conway market, and they say no other market shall do better tlmn Conway this season. We want the tobacco planters who have fed the stranger at their gates, in the shape of tobacco Warehouses in other counties and States, to remember the home market and the prosperity of our "Independant Republic" this year. Mr. N H. Smart, brought in Monday, a leaf of tobacco which measured ISA by Mil inches. Mr. A. 1. Johnson delivered at the Horry Warehouse a load of tobacco weighing 510 lbs This is the largest load that has come in so far, and cant. Coles savs the load is of very good quality. The now Warehouse men have reached Conway and are pushing things. Mr. Thomas Powell the traveling man of the fi 1*111 is now in the county with our tobacco planters. The farmers seem interested in getting in the 200,000 pounds of tobacco for the opening sale at the Horry Warehouse which Capt. Coles asked for. Let it come along. One of tin1 Conway buyers has sent in his order for 100 large size hogsheads to be made and set aside for him for the opening sale. This looks like business. Messrs. Thaxton, Winstcad & Co. have a number of new buyers 011 their list, all of whom they expect to be here by the opening. Miss Nora Cannon strings? sticks o! tobacco, 00 leaves to the stick, in ft minutes at. the tobacco barn of Mr. R Cannon. Who can boat this? CANDIDATES GOLOMN.
