There is ft section of our State,] Bluffton, in the vicinity of Beaufort, in which some good people are in distressed circumstances, rendered so by the severe storms of last fall. They are of that class, who would suffer to any extent before making it known and consequently deserve public syin* pathy. They received 110 assistance *i-~ r>?1 /' o ? .: vi vuuioc J1U1I1 lilt' I\t'U urUM5 OUl'ltHYj because they were not known to be in need. Those peoplo deserve attention and we truBt proper consideration will bo paid them. Tho advocates of prohibition arei called, to meet hero ontko first Monday in June, to doviso the best means, under existing circumstances and to elect delegates to a Prohibition Convention, to meet now very soon at Columbia. A short while since, when %vo wore in daily fear of having a Dispensary, many of our peoplo were loud in their opposition of it and it is but reasonable to expect that these same friends will be hero on the day mentioned and lend their presence and influence to the advancement of a just cause. Wise and diacreot men are needed in times like these and we trust that the utmost wisdom may prevail. a-11.. - L" i_ . 11 Poor of Horry County.
