It was indeed morally certain that the three oouucil men had mentally dissolved their couuectiou with the Evungelical Lutheran Church, ami that they had placed themselves iu uientsl opposition to their duties aud their vow. For it is undeniable that pi nee every eougregration, accord ing to churchly order, should be a nursery of evangelical, Christian views and faith, the church council should coo|>erate for this purpose, aud it undeuiably follows that men bers of a free religious association are uot qualified to do this.
