Philadelphia— Meeting of Church Council*.—The several oonurils of the German Lutheran churchtw in Philadelphia, have elected delegates of late to hold frequent general meetings for the promotion of the welfare of the German Lutheran Church. An effort is making to equalise the Axed contributions of the members in different churches. In case of removal Km one pariah to another, a certificate will be given mentioning up to what date the member has paid his oontrilmtion, and this certificate will cutUle the holder to exemption from charch does in his new connection until the time mentioned. A resolution was passed, requesting Synod to exemse one of the German pastors from attendance at each annual session of Synod, so that he may remain in Philadelphia and minister to all the people in the absenee of their other pastors.—Lutheran and Hivdonary.
