A bull should be fed carefully so as to keep hun in good thrifty condition. He should have about the same raliou as a cow producing three gallons of milk daily. A good way is to have a pure bred bull and let the neighbors all use him for a small fee; then there will bo plenty of grade colors to purchase aud raise for this market. Soin^ fanners raise the calves on shares, get ting ono-hnlfof the gross for the raising. A poor man can soon build up a he.*d in this way. It does not take the calf loug to gut to maturity, aud there is no better way for a fanner to uti lize his skim milk than in this way. We need jnore and better dairy cows in the South, and some men can, if they will, get| busy and make a good thing out of raising them.
