These mills are located a little west of the City of Camden* Half a mile away, they are con nected with a spacious pond of water by a dam and canal. This pond is a .great resort for the people of the city, the mill vil lagers and the surrounding country. The mill company has a pas ture of some 200 acres devoted to the free use of the operatives, and nearly every family has a milch cow. There is also in connection a large area of open laud. Fine garden spots are in cluded in all resident spots, in fact all inducements are offered for good people to reside with us. Our book keeper and manager is Mr. It. B. Pitts. He is a tine official who is well liked by the operatives, and popular with all, including the young ladies of the city who often visit the mill. Our supenntendant, Mr. T. P. Hoy is a strictly up to-date mill man, and is getting off a fine production. He has plenty of help at all times, is courteous to all, and his hat is never too heavy to lift to a lady. He main- j tains good order in the village, and no one causing disorder is allowed to remain. This has a natural tendency to bring to us only the best class of people, and to ele/ate the morals of those already with us. , Our overseers are all a fine set of men. Mr. Albert Mahaffy, assisted by Messrs. J. M. Hough and J. E. Wad ford ably conduct affairs in the spinning room. Mr. R. L. Shirley, assisted by Mr. Deck Martin, leave nothing mor*? to be desired in the weave room. Mr. D. E. Madden is the efficient overseer of the cloth room (is well as shipping clerk.
