Well l first will try and tell you about my trip over herein We sailed from New York r.th of August and land-, e«J in London Klgland ISth. ** I stood that part fin*- vn-* only sick about one hour. When we arrived at England, we started to hike. We moved towards the English channel where we crossed for France. We started hiking - attain, then was 0.1 the train for two days and nights. Then we were getting near the war rone. I was still with the division I left the l\ S. with* . We settled in a little cTllace and August 25th I W£.s transferred to another divi sion. I guess you see in the p.i pers where its mentioned. * This division has been over here for over a year apd I have been on nearly every front/' v The'/ last of August, we were moving towards the front and September 12th we went over, after the Huns. Over the trp Wo sure done some work. Wjp drove the 12 miles in two days, captured lots of thepi. It was sur» some sight for my first experience and I was on fhe front from then up to October 11th when I was taken sick. I left my company on the way to anothe^ front where they, drove the Huns nntill the last shot was <|ired. I wish I eonld have been with them, but I was in th-3 hospital. My company is now on the German soil. . I don't know if I’ll get back with ^hem or not. 1 thfpk from what I' hear that all the sick and what is in the hospital will soon leave for home. I hope to be home soon, I am alright now, fe:d better thr.n I have felt since I've been in the service. Well I hope that >ou. all will have a merry Christmas. Wish I could be horn'* with you. Say Dad just think what a c.d*-hration I’ll have even* -year. The armistice was signed on my birthday, November 11th. I guess, you have noticed it.
