The lettuce crop is moving faster than was anticipated and seems to be in a very good condition in spite of the fact that it has suffered' some from the warm days and lack of sufficient rain. , . The Irish potato crop throughout the county is looking exceptionally well aiyl the farmers in this section have high hopes for the yield and good prices. A car of lettuce shipped by Mr. H. G. BurckmeyeV, and sold by Mr. Mc- Sweeney through Olivet -Bros, brought $5. Mr. Burckmeyer has beautiful lettuce again this season, his last year’s crop being one of the best in this section. ; Mr. W. R. Eve, Jr., returned on Thursday morning of this week from a conference in Columbia with Mr. Chas.- Braham, traffic manager for the South. Eastern District, who has headquarters in Atlanta.
