At 1 o'clock, after a thorough in-- spertioiKof the large Southern Car olina Fair, the visitrvs. together with quite a representative dot of| local citizens, the director* of the Southern Carolina Association and other prominent visitors, gathered (bought desirable. in the dining hall oh the grounds, where a magnificent turkey and chicken dinner was served. Two central themes predominated in the spec* lies, the need of a better cor- ne*tion of this' /lection with Savan- onah l>y*means of. first, the proposed cut-off of the Atlantic Coast Line Railway from St. Stephens to Yem- assee. and, second, the need of bet ter dirt road communication with Savannah by means of a bridge or art adequate ferry across the Sa- t /rannah opposite the city of Savan-' nah.
