themselves with being delighted at

benefit to a neighboring seaport.

At 1 o'clock, after a thorough in--

olina Fair, the visitrvs. together

local citizens, the director* of the
Southern Carolina Association and
other prominent visitors, gathered (bought desirable.

cut-off of the Atlantic Coast Line
Railway from St. Stephens to Yem-
assee. and, second, the need of bet
ter dirt road communication with
Savannah by means of a bridge or
art adequate ferry across the Sa- t
/rannah opposite the city of Savan-'

many free attractions interspersed.
A good hand wag present the entire
week, and this added much to the
gaiety of the occasion. The midway
was clean throughout and was most
liberally patronized. The exhibi

keen competition was manifested in
the award of the various premiums,

of the credit for the gigantic sucCesn
of the fair. He worked for many
months in seenring the interest of
the people of the four counties and
the attendance showed that his ef
forts were rewarded with success.
