Prove What 'One of the most enjoyable and thoughtful attention^ to those who are engaged* in building in the Sni ders section one of the beat roads in the county, was a picnic dinner given to the road officials an4 the chain gang at the camp of the gang recently. !. A •big/picnic table was erected and the people of the com- mlenity loaded it down with the good ‘things they know so well how to prepare. Commissioner Moore, (’apt. Buckner. Guardr Zeigler and ►Fox^ and quite a number of the Sni ders folks, with the members of the chain gang enjoyed the repast. The convicts were given holiday for the balance of the day, and expressed themselve* as being very apprecia tive of the kindness and thoughtful ness of the people. The Snider* toad is progressing nicely, and is completed beyond. th<* aross roads. The road has been straightened and * widened, and one of the best roads In the low- country. . A lot of this road hits been clayed, and much more of It will not need claying to make it a splendid' roadbed. There, are" sev eral miles not yet clayed, but this will be attend^ to. soon, and when 'done, the Sniders road will be among the best in this section *of the State. It is the intention .of the'authori ties to complete this road to Rice Patch afid then go on round to Lodge from there. This is one of the most important roads in the county, and it -is reorted that the amount of travel has more than doubled on it since it has-been imroved so much.
