You work your wagon oftener and harder than anything else on the farm. Buy a wagon that lasts longer than the aver age. It is an easy thing to do, even though h.11 wagons which are painted alike may look alike. The difference in wagons is underneath the paint. It is the material and workmanship,- entering unto the construction ofl 11 C wagons. Weber Columbus New Bettendorf Steel King which make them the best wagon investment. We want eyery purchaser to convince himself before buying, that When IHC wagons are advertised as having oak or birch hubs, hickory axles and long leaf yellow pine box bottoms these are the materials actually used. When an I H C wagon reaches a farmer’s barn, that farmer has one of the best-wearing, easiest-running farm wagons that skilled labor can make or that money can buy. There is no need to speculate in buying a wagon. IHC wagons are made for nation-wide uses, with special features adapted to local conditions. Weber and Columbus have wood gears. New Bettendorf and Steel King have steel gears. The IHC wagon dealer in your town sells the wagon best suited to your neighborhood. Harvester Building, Chicago, USA ti ■s 4 apt Way Write-,. Editor Press and Standard: As the last battle of our primary has ueen touRiit, glad to say^ no one has been killed, but some severely hurt, no doubt. Now let us turn our thoughts from polities and place them on eduiation, which is for the betterment and uplift of our county and state. A divided peo ple are serious to any nation. Many of our young men and women have gone to different schools in the state and that is at. it ought to Ire. and many more ought to have gone. Hut what about our rural schools? As to the Mt. Carmel cchool. I do not understand this. We have fifty dol lars. just enough to tea< h one month. Ours is not tne only school In this fix. One of the biggest mistakes our school trust*** s have ever made was trying to put a aehool house at Sfvorjr man s door. There are so many school districts formed in the county and schools not Hi these dis tricts are dying a natural death or at least, the most of mem. Few men will go down in their pockets as long as they are taxed for the school. Trustees put two or three of these little sitkly schools together If you do cause a war-whoop. I ask the tpfestion, what will be the out come of all this indifference? My mind for a year or two has tinder- gone a radical change, i believe the time ripe for compulsory educa tion. When I see parents so indif ferent about the education of their children, the state s.tould take a hand and fp-e to it at least that her children should read and write. I know v>hen you enter th** prerlnet of a man’s home >oj tread on sacred ground, hut in this instance, it would be for the betterment of th** Stale a^d nation: I hope mat the next Legislature will pass u tompulsory scnool law a.id make an appropria tion, for ram* that alt « hildren shall go to s* iiool so many c.ays or months in eachikyear. Tin* a.gument against compulsory education is the r-»*ro. We can get along with him then as now under our public s* bools. The state cannot afford to sa* rific** th*- indifferent aixl the poor, the uniformed is an easy prey to the business world. O. W' Way. Manintodi Fish < aught. Backache is a symptom of organic weakness or derangement If you have backache don’t neglect it To get per manent relief you must reach Uu* root of the trouble. Head about Mrs. Wood- all’s experience. Morton’s Gap, Kentucky. —“I suffered two yean with female disorders, my health was very bad and 1 had a continual backache which was simply awful. 1 could not stand on my feet long enough to took a meal’s victuals without my back nearly killing me, and I would have such dragging sensa tions 1 could h&rdly bear it I had sore ness in each side, could not stand tight clothing, and was irregular. I was com pletely run down. On advice I took Lydia E. Pinkham’c Vegetable Com pound and am enjoying good health, it is now more than two years and I have rot had an ache or pain since. I do all my own work, washing and everything, and never have backache any more. 1 think your medicine is grand and I praise it to all my neighbors.
