Dec. 18. and was served by Chief Ackerman and, Mr. Hauck. They found a valise coHalning five pints and in r-n out house in the yard a large number of empty Jugs and bottles, rrd in cne of the bed rooms, five or six bottles were found between the beds ard under the pillows. These were all seized and were brought Into court and offered in evidence. The defense attempted to show thr-t the bottles-were purchased for th* purpose cf bottling syrup to b * sold at Mr. Byron's store at Irot-'s Cross Roads. Mrs. Byron. Mr. By ron, H. E. Benton. 8. F. Benton. Devi Ryan and John Price testified Friday. Dec. 15, the day the pur chase cf liquor was mi<le Joh!- Shark and George Deal were work ing at the Byron house erecting a brick chimney. Mr. Ryan was there superintending this work. Af fidavits. were read from Deal r.nd Shark, stating that they had seen ro one come there thqt day and purchase liquor of Mrs Byron.
