Stone, after which dinner was served on the grounds. At 2:30 the Union re-assembled and after a scripture reading by Mrs. Bryan and prayer by Mrs. Hatcher, the reports of the various committiees were heard and accept ed. Mrs. Bryan told in an interesting way of a recent visit to the Marga ret Home, and Mrs. Hatcher gave a vivid account of the splendid work that is being done at the training school in Louisville, Ky. Mrs. Hatcher made a fine address on training. It thrilled every heart when she appealed to the parents to give their children the right kind of instruction. She also told something of the work the Sunbeams are doing, and the conditions existing in Africa,, China and among the Indians. The meeting, the best in the history of the Union, closed with an earnest prayer by Mrs. Haynesworth. The next meeting of the Union will be held with the Doctor’s Creek Church Saturday before the second Sunday in December, 1909. The offering, amounting to £5.76, was given to Mate Missions. Present. The Woman’s Missionary Union of the Second Division of the Colleton Association met at Black Creek Baptist Church Thursday, Sept. 16, The meeting was interesting and everyone felt it was good to be there. The scripture lesson was read by the president, Mrs. R. L. Blocker. The opening praQpr was made by Rev. Rhode. The delegates and visi tors were cordially welcomed by Miss Sue Williams. Miss Janie Sanr ders responded in behalf of all pres ent. Only a few societies were repre sented, but the reports from them were encouraging, and showed them to be in a flourishing condition. There is a promise of greater inter est and better work during the com ing year. ^ " One of the mosL enjoyable feat ures of the day was a solo—“One Sweetly Solemn Thought,” sung by Mrs. M. B.
