I do not think it is right for me to have all my land under fence and turn my stock out on another man’s land, and I have not had any stock out in a good many years, while if I had known that Mr Carter’s land had grown so I might have turned them out but I have always heard that his grand father gave his mother one hundred acres and that is the same track that he has. and he is running a three horse farm on it, has three settlements on it, three ponds, one branch and two pastures, all under fence and one road going through it, so I will leave it to our readers to decide what is the matter, whether he has the land he claims in the woods or whether he has been making true returns. If Mr Carter has so much land in the woods, 1 do not see why he would want his stock to go on Mr Rentz* land where there is nothing but pine straw and frogs, execept that he thinks that frogs are more plentiful and better feed for his hogs than his corn.
