His headpuarters at The Public I>rug Store is besieged with crouds of men and women eager to be cured of their ills. Cooper is a quiet, gentlemanly per son, with the appearance of a student rather than a business man. He is spparently about thirty-one or two years of age. He first came into pub lic notice by his philanthropic work among the poor. The large fortune be possesses has made it possible for him to distribute many wagon—loads of food and clothing among those in indigent circumstances since his am Ysl in Chicago. The first that was known of Coop er*s power over disease was when Mr John Stanber, of ICO? Broadway, Cincinnati Ohio, who was in this city on bnsine«, declared that Coop er, the philanthropist, was the same person who save bis life last March, after he had been given np to die by bis pbysicians.
