Seawright, twenty-four years old. audi a naval veteran of the world war, was) instantly killed at noon today when1 a motorcycle which he was riding; collided liead-on with a heavy touring) car, occupied by a party of Asheville men, about two miles outside the city on the Buncombe road. A coro-| ner's jury later in the day held the; seven members of the Ashville party j accountable for the accident, and the; men will be confined in tin county jail until bond can be arranged. The Asheville motorists were en route to Greenville and the Greenville youth was outward bound. Testimony at the coroner's inquest con-| flicted as to the speed of the Asheville car. Damage to the automobile on/i fba mntnr^vcle. however, indi cated that both machines were running at a high rate of speed. The Asheville men held for the grand jury gave their names as follows: D. C. Brown, driver of the car; Sol Robin, Charles Gross, M. Edinger, M. Ornsten, H. Goldbert and Sam Labitt. ? ? Paper Shortage Hits Magazines. New York, April 15.?Publishers! of several periodicals of national circulation have decided to combine two issues in one or to reduce the number of pages in each because of papeshortage due to the railroad strike, it was announced tonight. Many of the leading magazines may have to suspend publication temporarily if conditions do not improve, the announcement said. The situation was discussed at a meeting here today of the Periodical Publishers' Association. After ad/ journment .Bhn- Adams Thayer, executive secretary, issued the following statement: . * "In order to conserve paper and to continue issuing their magazines, f ... * some publishers have decided to com-' bine two issues in one; others propose to curtail the number of pages in their issues. By reducing their iscupu thev will be forced to leave out much of the advertising which they ordinarily print.
