Many people object to the PI streets 'seing blockaded "with vehicles and the sidewalks with goods. Oysters at Moye's next Friday and Satr The number of local telephones steadily increases, and the manager of the exchange is kept busy making new connections. People are beginning to realize what a &reat convenience a telephone is. The Boston Stars will appear at Denmark Friday evening, the 14th, at Guess's hall, under the auspices of the Denmark lyceum. How many more of these little "shanties" is city council going to allow oe .Main street ? They are a disgrace to th? main business street of the town, and yel there is no ordinance prohibiting theii erection, which there should be. , New, fancy grocery, with new goods lowest prices, just opened, by J. I. Kinarc & Son, under Johnson's hotel. The streets of the town are getting in very bad shape. Many of them are full ol holes, making them'very rough. In fact some of the public roads are bettei than streets in town. Why don't council have the streets repaired and kept in fix: The new graded school building is very much in need of shades, for the windows, or inside blinds. Can't the ladies get up some entertainments during the winter and raise the money to buy them ? They can if they will, and we hope they will take the matter in hand. The tax books will open next Saturday, the loth, for the collection of State and county taxes. When you go to pay, be sure to give the name and number of your school district, and if you own property in more than one township, call for receipts in each township. Fresh oysters at Moye's every Friday and Saturday. The case of Williams against Weeks has been decided by the State Supreme St" > court, and the decision confirms the cir?-/ cuit judge. This was an action brought I against T. S. Weens as rroDate juage 01 Barnwell county for recovery of money lost through his failure to require a suffifcient bond. The decision means that his bondsmen will have to pay the money. J. I. Kinard & Son offer choice fancy groceries, reasonable prices, free delivery, *pbone 55. He went to % - sleep by the side of the track and was 2 struck by the engine of the coming traiu fef ; and instantly killed. He was well-known iv ' in Bamberg, having lived here at one time, & and was recently married. Everything new to eat at J. I Kinard & : . Son's. It is well worth the price of admission. 1 We hope our planters will take much interest in the farmers' institute to be held > here in December. Much may be learned * which will be profitable to them, and we hope to see a large attendance. > Change your advertisements often, but get your changes into this office not later Than Monday. We are very busy now, . and cannot change ads. when the copy i reaches us later than Monday. As a rule Bamberg has the worst kept : streets of any town that we know of. In no other place are merchants allowed the privilege of blockading the streets and sidewalks with all sorts of goods fruit stands, etc. County Treasurer Jno. F. Folk has turned over the county funds the amount of ?136.32, this being interest on daily deposits from November 1st, 1903, to September 30,1904. This amount of interest comes in very nicely for the county. The Boston Stars, a musical organization which has delighted Bamberg audiences before, will aoDear at the Fitting School chapel next Saturday night. Those who heard them year before last were too well pleased for "us to say anything in their favor. There will be no reserved seats, so you had best come early and secure a good seat.
