C., to the New York World will be of interest to the Knights in this section: "John Curtis, a lumberman, of Haywood county, fifty years old, did not like :he treatment he received while taking the second rank, Knights of Pythias, at Canon, and has brought suit against the odgc, charging assault. A warrant for the rrest of the district deputy grand chanellor, George L. Hackney, of Asheville, ;as served to-day. Hackney gave bond. "Curtis had already taken the first rank, and was almost through with the second, when he backed down and refused to go any farther. The lodge members tried to reason with him and to prevent a scene.
