H .» Uncle Sam has made heavy calls on Barnwell County for the month of July. On July 15th the Local Board must fill a call for 12 white men to be sent to Camp Wadiworth, at ^Spar tanburg; on the 18th inst. 123 negroes will be sent to Camp Jackson, and be tween the 22nd and 31st inst, 14 white men and 138 negroes will be sent to Camps Jackson knd Wadsworth. The Local Board has been very busy this week selecting the men to fill these calls and mailing out notices. The July drafts will take a large number of farm laborers, but this is a condition that cannot be helped, in asmuch as men engaged in non-pro ductive occupations have already been mobilised.
