Price and Bennett left here Saturday morning via auto mobile for Camp Sevier, but when they reached Newberry County they found the roads in such a terrible condition that they were forced to abandon the trip and return home. Mrs. & N. Woodward was called to Batesburg Friday to the bedside of her son, Mr. Leroy Woodward, who has been suffering for the past sever al days from severe nose-bleeding. There has been no let-up in the num ber of new volunteer subscribers to The People during the past week. ‘There’s a reason.” A Ford automobile loaded with ne groes hit a hog Friday night on the Barnwell-Snelling road and turned turtle. None of the five occupants of the machine was seriously injured/al though they were all more or less shaken up and bruised. This is the second accident of the kind in the vi cinity of Barnwell during the past few months.
