The Barnwell high school baseball team was defeated by the Lexington high school on the local diamond Fri day afternoon, the score being 12 to 10. Miss Louise Porter arrived home from Converse College Saturday night, being forced temporarily to sUs- 4 pend her studies on account of throat trouble. • The Barnwell County dispensary commission held a meeting here Tues day for the purpose of transacting business in connection with winding up the affairs of the county dispensary. Lee, of Kline, had a nar row escape from serious injury Tues day afternoon when his automobile ran into a ditch in front of the resi dence of Mr. J. J. Rush, in this city. Walker, Jr M who dies! in a Savannah hospital last night as result of injuries sustained at Estill in an automobile accident Sunday, was brought to Allendale yesterday for burial. ^ Mr. Walker had a large circle of relatives and friends in this com munity,. ^he^ whs reared and lived for a great part of his life. He leaves" his father, John O. Walker, and two brothers, Sam C. Walker and F. Marion - Walker. He was a mem- ber of the Allendale lodge, Knights of Pythias.
