Mr. Best had lived here for the past 3*5 years andp had en deared himself to the people of the town and community. Altman has returned from Columbia hospital where she underwent an operation. Mrs. J. M. Clybum, Jr., is substituting in high school for Mrs. Altman in her ab sence. Entertains Bridge Club Mrs. Kirkland Watts entertainpd' her bridge club Thursday evenmg in the hotel ’dining room with a turkey supper. Those substituting were Tom Ed Hearon and Mrs. June Truesdell. When score were counted Mrs. LesUe Best held high score and Tom Ed Hearon won bingo price. - Preaches Farewell Sermon Rev. W. L. Baker, pastor of the Presbyterian church, preached his farewell sermon to a full house Sunday evening. Mr. and Mrs. Baker have endeared themselves to the people of the town and com munity in their two yeafa stay here. They will move to their new home in Walkersvllle. N, C., next WMk.
