churrhes. Mr. Best had lived here
for the past 3*5 years andp had en
deared himself to the people of the
town and community. For a num-,
ber of years Mr. Best wras a stew
ard In the Methodist church and at

from Columbia hospital where she
underwent an operation. Mrs. J. M.
Clybum, Jr., is substituting in high
school for Mrs. Altman in her ab
sence.
