The Thomas Tavern reopened Saturday after being in the hands of painters and decorators for sev eral days. The interior of the tavern was completely renovated, even inter the kitchen and other service room. On Monday the work of repainting the front of this popular eating place was carried out. New light fixtures of the Goure- scent type are being installed in the tavern. Additional signs are contemplated for the front of the building. Competitors will not be required to take a written test. To qualify, they must have completed college study in geology or must have a combination of such study and technical experience, plus profes sional experience in geology. Cassatt News One of the prottleet birthday parties given in this eoanaunity was the one given by Mra Jf. C. West for her two chiMren, Naaey, age 7, and Henry, age •$, last Thnrbday afternoon. The little guesta were entertained on the outside with games they enjoyed, then they were taken in the house and most of them mtered a con test, trying to pin the donkey's tail In the right place. Disk Stanton won first prise and Travia Rawl won second. Each little guest was given a cute paper cap and then took thehr places around the beau- ilfuUy decorated tabla. Each plaoe was marked with pretty baskets tilled with candy. They were served ice cream and cake. The lovely white cake with yellow and pink decorations was in the center of the Uble. T^low and pink paper extended' from. the chandelier to each corner of the table and flow ers arranged in the dinihg room made a lovely setting for the party. The little honor guests then opened their presents and every one enjoyed the excitement and pleasure of this part of the party. Mrs, West was assisted in enter taining by her mother, Vfrs.
