The amount of seed to plant to the acre is from five to seven pounds, al though this will vary with the size of the seed and the rate of plant ing. The rows, especially for the smaller varieties, should be some what closer together than for field corn. Special plates for planting popcorn can be obtained from mosi planter manufacturers. Two varie ties of popcorn that seem to be most In favor with confectioners are the Australian hulless and the large yel low. Practically all popcorn is sold shelled. From the lighting standpoint, it is estimated that when the paint is activated by ultra-violet, the light given off will be three times more eflertive than filament fighting.
