Harvin, Sr, grandmothers of the bride, wore black crepe dresses trim med with sequins, and corsages of red rosee. , Following the ceremony, a recep tion was given at the home of the bride’s mother on Laurens street. Hostesses for the occasion were Mrs. Smith, Mrs. Myers and Mm. Sorenson and there were 24 cadet wives present. Dessert, cake and punch was served from a lovriy center table of white cloth, yellow roses and yellow candles, after which bridge was played with Mrs. A. W. Habeeb and Mm. Maurice Clay acting aa instructors in the game. MRS. W. J. MAYFIELD ENTERTAINS THE U.D.C. The Chapter was entertained at tbe home of Mrs.-W. J. Mayfield on Mon day afternoon, April 3. The meeting was well attended. Reports from of ficers and committees showed satis factory work accomplished and espec ially gratifying was the report of Mrs. U. N. Myers, chairman of patriotic ac tivities. The Chapter again contributed to- wvds the Red Cross Fund Drive. Mm. R. M. Kennedy very graciously presented to the Chapter one of her lovely oil paintings, the subject being tall white and red striped lilies, nam ed "After-glow- of the Confederacy.' Arrangements were partially made for May 10th Memorial Day. All mem bem are asked to make wreaths for graves at ctraetery.
