( amden Won From Hartsville. -On Wednesday evening a tournament was staged on the Wizard Golf Course between players from the local course and those from the King Putt course in Hartsville. Those competing were: Messrs. Ammen, Hastings, Porter, Twitty, and Bruce, of Hartsville, against Messrs. Hateman, Bruce, Smith, Khumo and Gregory, of Camden. The plays were followed with interest by a large crowd of fans from each course, Mr. B. M. Smith, of Camden, made many fine shots and held the lowest score for the evehing. Camden won by a good mar gin but gave Hartsville much credit for their sportsmanship. The ladies of Hartsville will play at av later date here against the champions of the Wizard Golf course. Lake Again Opened. . Colonial Lake, owned .and operated by R. M. Kennedry, Jr., js again open to the public for bathing and picnic parties. This pretty body of water was destroyed last year by torrential rains, causing the dam to break, but the dam has been repaired and good crowds have been swimming these hot afternoons. Mrs. WUliford Was Hostess One of the prettiest parties given here recently was the bridge affair which Mrs. J. L. Williford gave on Friday afternoon of last week, entertaining at her attractive home in Brevard Place. 'Six tables were arranged* in the living room where huge vases of dyed Queen Ann lace in all the pastel shades cafried put the color scheme which was also used in the'' refreshments. High score prize was won by Mrs. B. A. Fletcher, of Bishopville, and low score went to Mrs. Frank Cure ton. Mrs. Dess Goodale cut consolation. The out of town guests included: Mrs B. A. Mr. and Mrs. Goodale will return^ after a visit to New York and Philadelphia. Mr. Ernest Cv Zemp, who has been making his home in Portland, Oregon, for the past six months has returned to Camden. Young Set Rave Bridge Club The younger social set have organized a bridge club recently. Its meetings are to be held every Tuesday morning.
