Carolina Tuberculosis Sanitorium,
will be in attendance on those days,
Any and all persons, both White and
colored, who are or have been in
contact with an uctive case of tuberculosis
(consumption) are requested
to ?et in touch with either Miss McMaster
or the County Health Department.
This work is an effort tqfind
cases in the early' stages at which
time the permanent cure is most
promising. The assistance and co- "
operation of the entire public is earnestly
solicited in this work since it
is being carried on with the approval
of the Kershaw County Medical Society.
Help us to help others, is the
request of Dr. A. W. Humphries,
director of the Kershaw County
Health Department.

were arranged in the living room
where the guest* were entertained.
The high score was won by Miss
Mary Eleanor Goodale and the honor
guest was also presented with a gift.

( amden Won From Hartsville.
-On Wednesday evening a tournament
was staged on the Wizard Golf
Course between players from the local
course and those from the King
Putt course in Hartsville. Those competing
were: Messrs. Ammen, Hastings,
Porter, Twitty, and Bruce, of
Hartsville, against Messrs. Hateman,
Bruce, Smith, Khumo and Gregory, of
Camden. The plays were followed
with interest by a large crowd of fans
from each course, Mr. B. M. Smith,
of Camden, made many fine shots
and held the lowest score for the evehing.
Camden won by a good mar
gin but gave Hartsville much credit
for their sportsmanship. The ladies
of Hartsville will play at av later
date here against the champions of
the Wizard Golf course.
Lake Again Opened.
. Colonial Lake, owned .and operated
by R. M. Kennedry, Jr., js again open
to the public for bathing and picnic
parties. This pretty body of water
was destroyed last year by torrential
rains, causing the dam to break, but
the dam has been repaired and good
crowds have been swimming these hot
afternoons.
Mrs. WUliford Was Hostess
One of the prettiest parties given
here recently was the bridge affair
which Mrs. J. L. Williford gave on
Friday afternoon of last week, entertaining
at her attractive home in
Brevard Place. 'Six tables were arranged*
in the living room where huge
vases of dyed Queen Ann lace in all
the pastel shades cafried put the
color scheme which was also used in
the'' refreshments.
High score prize was won by Mrs.
B. A. Fletcher, of Bishopville, and
low score went to Mrs. Frank Cure
ton. Mrs. Dess Goodale cut consolation.

she was improving.

on for appendicitis last Saturday
morning is improving rapidly,
much to the delight of her friends. *

from a visit to Salisbury, Mr. William

has been spending some time there

Mr. Ernest Cv Zemp, who has been
making his home in Portland, Oregon,
for the past six months has returned
to Camden. He expects shortly to go
to Columbia where he will make his
home. Mrs. Zemp and two attractive
_ daughters who have been making
their home ih Pihevllle, N. O., will
join him there.
Young Set Rave Bridge Club
The younger social set have organized
a bridge club recently. Its meetings
are to be held every Tuesday
morning. This week Mis# Susan Kennedy
was hostess, entertaining at her
new home on Broad street. The
